Kimberley Radmacher – Director

Kimberley recently studied at the University of Toronto’s Graduate Centre for Study of Drama, where she specialized in intermedial performance theory and early modern English theatre. She has been directing early modern drama since the mid-1990s, and is delighted to be re-joining the PLS as director again this season, having co-directed What Light is This? with Linda Phillips last year. Other selected directing credits include: the Chester 2010 episode Killing of Abel, (Records of Early English Drama); Rowley and Middleton’s The Changeling (Drama Centre); The Wakefield Noah and York Fall of Man (Glendon College). Kim also was an assistant director for: Clyomon and Clamydes (PLS/Drama Centre); Inside Out: The Persistence of Allegory in Renaissance Performance (PLS/Drama Centre); and assistant director and co-video director for the Beaumont Royal Wedding Masque, (Making Publics Project/Records of Early English Drama), all directed by Peter Cockett.

Scott Moore – Herod

After training at the Ryerson Theatre School, Scott has performed in numerous shows in Toronto including: Cassius in Julius Caesar and Clarence in Richard III (Hart House Theatre); Coulmier in Marat/Sade (Soup Can Theatre); Bob Float in The Aquarium and Robert Greene in It Was Kit (Triple Take Productions); Balthazar in the Spanish Tragedy, Gilbert in Knives in Hens, Hitler in Mein Kampf, Tobias in Delicate Balance, and Deflores in The Changeling (Graduate Drama Centre); Caesar in Julius Caesar, Master Ford in Merry Wives of Windsor, Dogberry in Much Ado About Nothing, and Bottom in Midsummer Night’s Dream (Alchemy Theatre); Goldberg in The Birthday Party and Ernest in The Anger in Ernest and Ernestine (Rhino Productions); and various roles with the Ancient Comic Opera Co.

Eric Lehman – 1st King (Melchior), 1st Knight (Sir Grimbald), Demon, Carpentry

Eric is happy to be a part of a wonderful cast in his first preformance with PLS. He is a recent grad of Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts and his past theatre credits include The Rocky Horror Show, Our Town, The King Stag, Peter Pan, Kiss me Kate, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Footloose.

Alan Belerique – 2nd King (Jasper), 2nd Knight (Sir Lancherdeep), Demon

A multi-talented, multimedia performer, Alan Bee graduated from Seneca College before launching his own radio show “Anarky Radio”, as well as producing, writing and performing in numerous short films including Escaping Life as well as performing in the Ottawa Fringe show One man show of Doom! He can currently be seen every Tuesday at Comedy Bar improvising with Big Chicken Dinner.

Daina Valiulis – 3rd King (Balthasar), Demon

Daina Valiulis is a graduate of the University College Drama Program at U of T, with a Masters BA. Under the guidance of such great Canadian artists as Ken Gass, Kate Lynch, Maja Ardal and Kate Hennig, Daina has learned to have a strong regard for telling the story as clearly as possible and always being honest in her work. Some favorite roles include Queen Margaret in The Red Light District’s production of Ivona, Princess of Burgundia, Titania/Hippolyta in Alchemy Theatre’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and way back in high school, Salome, in the Oscar Wilde play of the same name.

Daina is a founding member of ‘Theatre in the Red’ and has worn many other hats for the company including Producer, Stage Manager and Administrator. Daina is thrilled to be joining PLS for the first time in To Seek A Child and thanks all those in her life (and especially Tim) for being supportive of her journey thus far.

Carly Tisdall – Angel

Carly is thrilled to be working with PLS. She has performed on stage since early childhood. After spending a summer studying drama at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, England, she has recently acted as Emily in Our Town with the South Simcoe Theatre and Elmire in Tartuffe with the Bloor West Village Players.

Robyn Laliberte – Mary

Robyn is a Toronto-based actor who recently completed her Masters degree at the University of Toronto in Performance Studies. She has since performed in Love Coin at the Clay and Paper Theatre Festival, Euripides’ Cyclops at the Toronto Fringe Festival and on the Discovery Channel’s new show Prank Science.

Floyd Green – Joseph

After a career in Hospital Chaplaincy and Pastoral Education, Floyd retired from St. Michael’s Hospital in 2001. He immediately became involved with Act 2 Studio, a theatre arts program for seniors at Ryerson University. He was in the cast of Been Here Longer, a play geared to students in grades 9-12. He has had roles in The Mad Woman of Chaillot, The Inspector General, The Museum, Because Their Hearts Were Pure, No Big Deal (a play about prostate cancer), Shakespeare’s A Winter’s Tale, and Macbeth. He played in Leacock Live in the 2010 Toronto Fringe Festival. He has done some film work and played in an indie film called White Elephant.

Marienne Buslon – Messenger, Woman

Marienne has been steadily pursuing the craft of acting after realizing, a couple of years ago, that Kinesiology was not where her desire laid. She recently completed her first year in Theatre at George Brown and remains on the path to pursue acting professionally. Joining PLS’s current production, To Seek a Child is a many of firsts for her – this is her first role outside of the parameters of school or workshops and her first time working with the admirable crew of PLS. She is also honoured to be working with such an experienced and talented cast and only hopes to work with them in the future.

Madeleine Redican – Priest, Woman

Nina Kaye – Counselor

Nina Kaye has performed in several PLS productions including Ram Alley, The Chester Cycle, The True Tragedy of Richard the Third, and The Woman Taken in Adultery. She has performed with numerous theatre groups, such as Toronto Playback Theatre Youth Company, U of T groups, and Bard in the Park. Most recently, she directed a staged reading of her play, entitled Unspoken.

Reza Sholeh – 3rd Knight, King’s Attendant

Reza Sholeh has wanted to become an actor since childhood. All throughout high school he performed in his school’s plays. After graduating, however, he went on to university to study architecture in order to appease his family, but left after the first semester to follow his own dreams. He enrolled in a drama school in Iran where he studied theater and performed in Persian reproductions of Shakespearean plays. He moved to Canada in 2006 and continued studying acting with some of the biggest acting instructors in Toronto, and has been working in Films, TV, and Theater as a professional actor ever since.

Peter McArthur – 4th Knight, King’s Attendant

Peter McArthur received his education in Theatre Arts at Algonquin College. He has appeared in productions with Sock’n’Buskin, Dancing on Water Theatre Company, and Tara Players. He is the winner of the 2003 Ottawa Theatre Challenge with Blacksheep Theatre.

Joanne Rochester – King’s Attendant, Woman, Set Painter

Over the years Joanne Rochester has performed in PLS shows including A Looking Glass for London, Mankind, Occupation and Ydleness, and the York and Chester Cycles. Back in Toronto for her sabbatical, she is delighted to be able to play with PLS this year!

Linda J. Phillips – Producer, Costume Designer, Dramaturge

Linda is currently Artistic Director of Poculi Ludique Societas and resident designer for both PLS and the Shakespeare and the Queen’s Men project. She has directed several plays for PLS, including Mankind, Antony and Cleopatra, The World and the Child, five medieval Christmas pageants, and the all-star version of Pentecost in Chester 2010. She also assisted Alexandra F. Johnston with the editing of the Chester 2010 text, and edited the modern-spelling text for last season’s production of New Custom. Outside of PLS Linda has worked as a costumer for many companies; she especially enjoyed her five summers with Theatre Collingwood.

Chris Moore – Music Director

Katherine Belyea – Stage Manager, Music Assistant, Webmaster

Katherine is a Toronto-based stage manager and arts administrator. She is delighted to return to PLS for a second production. Toronto credits include Daughter of the Dust (Created Independently), Channel One (James and JF, Toronto Fringe 2011), Chameleon (A.H. Dance, Toronto Fringe 2011), The Lawyer Show: As You Like It (Nightwood), FemCab 2011 (Nightwood), and What Light Is This? (Poculi Ludique Societas). Thanks to all the cast and crew and especially to Kim and Linda for bringing me back.
